Child Therapy

In child therapy sessions, various tools and materials are used to support children with processing emotions and experiences in the most natural way for them – through play. Play therapy supports with learning to name feelings and emotions, identify associated body cues and in time discover strategies that fit best to support with regulation and positive communication. According to Dr. Gabor Maté, children’s “acting out” behaviours can be understood as expressions of unmet needs and emotions they have not yet learned to communicate verbally. This perspective aligns with trauma‑informed and attachment‑based approaches, which guide therapeutic services at Brave Village Therapy with children and families. Children are supported in developing the emotional language, safety, and connection they need to express themselves more effectively.
